FORGET NOT HIS FAITHFULNESS

By: Dennis Harworth
In a world filled with constant change, uncertainty, and disappointment, there reaches a point where you really need something that is consistent, trustworthy, and sure. Well, I sure have some good news! You can find this with complete confidence in God’s faithfulness because God does not change (Malachi 3:6) and He is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does (Psalm 145:13 NIV).
God is more utterly dependable and more perfectly reliable than the sun rising in the east every morning. God’s faithfulness is as established, steadfast, and enduring as the heavens (Psalm 89:2), that reaches beyond the clouds (Psalm 36:5 NLT). It is part of His very character (Psalm 89:8 NLT), and one of His most richly comforting attributes because He will never allow His faithfulness to fail (Psalm 89:33). So, no matter what trials, distresses, or sufferings you may experience, you can still dare to hope when you remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning (Lamentations 3:21-23 TPT).
This is a reminder that every morning ends the night and brings a brand-new day. Each morning is another opportunity to experience His mercies and depend on God’s faithful, unfailing love. But wait! There’s more! Because God is faithful to His Word, you can absolutely trust that every promise by God will most certainly be fulfilled. For He is the one who keeps every promise forever (Psalm 146:6 NLT). Here are just a few promises:
God is faithful…
1. To accomplish His purpose and protect you
Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you to Himself for your salvation, and He will do it. He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own. (1 Thessalonians 5:24 AMP)
2. To strengthen and guard you
But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
(2 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT)
3. To provide a way to endure temptation
God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
(1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)
4. To forgive you and cleanse you
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NKJV)
5. To keep His covenant promises
Therefore, know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations … (Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV)
All of the thousands of promises in the Bible are true (Joshua 21:45 NLT). Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful to His Word (Hebrews 10:23 AMP). But even if we are faithless, He will still be full of faith, for He never wavers in His faithfulness to us! (2 Timothy 2:13 TPT)
God’s faithfulness is one of your greatest sources of hope, strength, and encouragement. Therefore, it is not only something you should know; it’s something you should live by. God has been faithful in your past and He will forever continue to be faithful. When you remember His faithfulness, you are reminded that God is totally trustworthy in every season of your life. This trust brings you hope for today, strength for your tomorrow, and sure confidence for your future if you make sure to FORGET NOT HIS FAITHFULNESS.
