PROCLAIM THE CHANGE

As we step into the beginning of each year, there arises the hope of making the New Year a better year than the last.  I would venture to say that the greatest majority of people, whether or not there is a determination, still wish things could change for the better.  Unfortunately, good intentions and willpower are not effective to alter or transform the changes you may feel are needed.  You should know by now if you continue doing the same things, you cannot expect different results.  (Isn’t that something like the meaning of insanity?)

Did you know that God has New Year’s resolutions for you?  That’s right!  He is firmly determined in His purposes to bless you, to prosper you, and give you a new beginning!   God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness along with His own power for us to receive His absolutely great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:3-4).  God is a good God; so realize that all of His promises will only bring a change for your good.  Since God does not change (Malachi 3:6), any changing to do has to be done by you and me.

So how do you get these promises to bring about this kind of change?  I am so glad you asked!  It is simpler than you think.  (It is simple; not necessarily easy).

     1.  First, you must stop rehearsing your past pains and problems.  The more you talk about them, the more they become a stronghold in your life.  Choose to break free from speaking corrupt, unwholesome or worthless words. These are considered evil; meaning contrary to the ways and will of God.  When you talk using words like this, you will not receive the promises of God, much less change for the good.  Therefore, only speak whatever is good and beneficial to the use of building up others, that it may be a blessing and give grace to those who hear it. (Ephesians 4:29).

Since you hear yourself speak more than anyone else, this includes you too!   Don’t you know the words you speak will cause you to experience the consequences of them? (Proverbs 18:21).  So, if you don’t like the way your life is going, change your words.  You cannot change your past, but you can change your present and future from bad to beautiful just by watching what you say!  Good words will change you and then you’ll be shoutin’ real good!

Words which do not give the light of Christ increase the darkness. – Mother Teresa

     2.  Second thing is to start believing and receiving God’s precious promises.  This is more than just knowing that there are thousands of promises God has put in the Bible.  It is even more than putting them to memory.  God’s promises will undoubtedly change you when you trust Him by faith and trust His word.  The way to receive these promises is to set your faith in motion by speaking and calling out things the way you want them to be, not how they are.  Jesus said, “if you do not doubt, but believe those things you say will be done – you will have whatever you say. (Mark 11:23).

You might say, “Yeah, I’ve heard that before, and I speak words of faith. It just doesn’t work for me.”  It just did.  Your words have creative power and they will set things in motion in your life – either good or bad.  When your words line up with God’s Word, (which is His will), you will get God’s results.  Words will not work without faith any more than faith will not work without words!  Once you confess the promises from God’s Word you can absolutely expect to see them come to pass in your life.  What’s on your heart?  What do you need?  You can change whatever needs changing by using God’s Word to do it!

The key to receiving the desires of your heart is to make the words of your mouth

agree with what God already wants to give you.

Once you stop rehearsing your past and begin receiving the precious promises of God, you will be rejoicing because of the good and godly changes He is bringing into your life.  It will be such a blessing that you will not be able to keep yourself from telling others about the wonderful things happening to you.

The more you see the effect of the power of your words, the easier it will be to start calling things that are not as though they already are. (Romans 4:17).  This should be your resolution and resolve.  This should be a promise to believe.  Declare and decree by faith what God said and you will joyfully proclaim the change before it manifests.  Say it until you believe it, so you can believe it when you say it, and continue to do so until you see it. - Dennis Harworth

God desires you to be partakers of the great and precious promises in His Word.  If He gave His Word for you to have, then realize they are yours without a doubt.  It is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), so you can be confident He will honor each and every promise.  It is up to you to be obedient and to use the power of speaking His Word to change your life.  So, stop rehearsing your past, receive God’s promises and rejoice in your present.  You will be so glad you did when you wholeheartedly:
