IT'S TIME CHANGE

It is that time of year, just before the start of spring, when we change our clocks forward one hour. Most of us don’t like to lose that one hour of sleep. I usually end up going to bed an hour early and never miss out on that time of slumber. If you are one of those who get “out of sync”, are less productive, and maybe a little irritable for a couple of days, you probably give the reason why as simply, “It’s time change”.
Experts say you might have a good point because research has shown Daylight Savings Time (DST) can mess up your sleep patterns if you don’t get aligned with natural cycles of light and darkness. The debate still goes back and forth as to the benefits of Daylight Savings Time. Some of the pros for DST are that it promotes safety and it is good for the economy. Personally, the biggest advantage for me is I can be more active and much more productive with the longer days. The more daylight there is the more things seem to get done. Plus, coming out of the long darkness of winter, longer days can be a welcome change.
As I turn my clocks forward on Saturday night, the Lord showed me an interesting perspective on changing the time for more light in the day. Throughout the Bible, “light” is divinely rich in meaning. It is synonymous with all that shines radiantly in our life. Light is a symbol of holiness, knowledge, wisdom, goodness, grace, and hope.
God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). When we walk in the light, as He is in the light we have fellowship with Him, and the darkness of evil, sin, and despair disappears. (1 John 1:7). I never saw it this way that God’s light can change our lives if we let it. But for His light to bring change, you and I must partner with His divine nature in our daily walk with Him. The good news is we don’t have to do it on our own. God has given us His divine power for everything we need for living a godly life with His power through His great and precious promises. (2 Peter 1:3-4). In other words, He will graciously empower us to change (for our good) with each and every promise in His Word.
Here are only five of the areas God gave me to take Him up on His offer to bring change into our lives and what we should be:

Be followers of God

Be holy as He is holy

Be perfect

Be transformed

Be the children of light
As children of the light, we already have the nature of God’s light in us to be what He has called us to be; by His power to be what we should be; and through His promises to be what we could be. Just like it is up to us to change the clocks ahead, it is up to us to do our part and partner with God for change to be as He commands.
So, if you are not there yet, don’t you know - IT’S TIME…CHANGE!
