GET A PLAN

By Dennis Harworth

It is interesting to know that by the third week in January, the majority of people’s New Year’s resolutions have already fallen by the wayside.  For a month of beginnings, the good intentions and vows of discipline sure have had a very short lifespan.

Aren’t you glad that God’s New Year’s resolutions—His promises to us never ever fail?  Aren’t you glad that He is a God of new beginnings?  What is better still is that we don’t have to wait a whole year if we do not hook up with God on January 1st.  How true the words to the song that say, “Every day is New Years Day.”  Every day the Lord desires to shower you with blessings of provision, prosperity, and protection.  He really wants for you to be healthy, wealthy, and wise (and that’s not based on your sleep pattern).  It is the Lord’s plan to give you what is in His hand, as long as you trade Him for what is in yours.

How do you get a plan like that?  Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4).  In other words, the Lord knows the plans for you because He sees the very depths of your heart.  As you delight in the Lord and seek Him first, your desires will become His desires.  God plans to give to you the very things that you truly wanted Him to give you.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

These plans are all good things that are in store for us.  Let’s take a look at other translations to really understand how the Lord assures us: “plans for peace, not disaster”; “thoughts of peace and not of hurt”; “intentions of prosperity, and not suffering”; “to make you happy and not to harm you.”  Since we live in such a negative and pessimistic society isn’t it great as born-again believers to hear the Lord Himself declare to you plans of hope?

Be encouraged to get this plan.  Claim this promise for your own personal peace and security for your future.  God really wants to give you hope.  He has plans for your future and your destiny.  Look forward to what lies before you and leave behind the past mistakes and heartaches.  Let me emphasize once again:

God doesn’t care where you’ve been,

as much as He cares about where you are going!

Do not let your past circumstances, mistakes, and failures

determine your future destiny.

GET A PLAN, GET A LIFE, GET HOPE, AND GET GOING!!
