As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our United States of America, let us unite with grateful hearts for the blessings of faith, freedom, and the liberties that distinguish our nation as the greatest country on earth. What we enjoy today in the land of the free and the home of the brave, did not come without the courageous sacrifices of those who gave their lives and the unwavering devotion of those who have served in the military defending our freedoms.
With humble thanksgiving, let us give glory to Almighty God for His wisdom and protection that has guided our nation through triumphs and trials. Our founding fathers knew that without the help of God; as they stated in the Declaration of Independence, “a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence” - they could have never achieved their objective. The “Father of His Country” and our first President said it well:
It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will,
to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.
George Washington
Let us treasure and uphold the Biblical principles which have profoundly influenced our nation’s founding and 250 years of history. We recognize that these values have shaped our foundations and inspired generations to live a life of godliness, justice, and the pursuit of liberty and happiness under God. The first Chief-Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court understood this and stated:
The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the word of God and teaches us
the way to be happy in this world and in the next. Continue therefore
to read it and to regulate your life by its precepts.
John Jay
As we look toward our future, remember the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT): I urge you, first
of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority… Then if we want God to heal
our land, we must humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s face and repent from our ways that are contrary to His (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Now is the time for us to understand, in order to make America great again, we must pursue righteousness, honor truth, uphold justice, protect freedom, love our neighbors, preserve our families, and faithfully steward God’s blessings entrusted to us. With great gratitude to God, we can celebrate the fortitude, resilience, and the unique character of the American people. Let us continue to pray for God’s wisdom, mercy, and favor to lead, guide, guard, and bless our nation for generations to come. For truly,
BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD!
